2011 Annual Meeting Highlights

The annual meeting was held on Nov. 6, 2011. Musical entertainment was provided by the Wesleyan Celebration Band from Watertown. A delicious lasagna supper was served by the women of Trinity Lutheran. During the meeting door prizes were given. Cynthia introduced the 2012 board members and thanked everyone for their time given to Thrivent.
Marcia read the minutes of the 2010 annual meeting.
Ann gave the financial report.
Cynthia talked about the Choice Program and brought handouts to help members in making sure their Choice dollars are directed to the Lutheran organization of their choice.
Rod held the election of leaders for the 2012 year. There were no nominations from the floor. A unanimous ballot for the following candidates to serve on the board for 2012. Rod Fischer, Janet Rust, Marilyn Thue, Ann Clifford, Cindy Rust, Carol Reuer, and Landon Vetter.
Meeting adjourned.

Hamlin County Thrivent Board Meeting

The next meeting for the Hamlin County Thrivent Chapter meeting will be 9:00 am, Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2012; at Hayti Lutheran.

Congregational Advocates

Imagine yourself as an advocate for both Thrivent Financial and your congregation to identify Thrivent Financial programs and services that will help your congregation achieve its mission and goals, resulting in a positive impact on your congregation and community. Congregational advocates do just that! The time to get involved is NOW! Our chapter has congregational advocate opportunities available. The only requirements are: being a Thrivent Financial member; a desire to help people; a passion for your congregation and Thrivent Financial and approximately five hours of volunteer time per month.

Thrivent Choice

The Thrivent Choice program offers two ways members can recommend where to direct a portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable outreach funds.

1. Voting Events: All members (age 16 and older) can vote to help direct a portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable funds among a short list of national charities one to two times per year.
2. Choice Dollars: Eligible benefit members can help direct funds all year long to thousands of Lutheran nonprofit organizations like schools, camps, colleges – or even to their Lutheran congregations. Benefit members age 16 or older are eligible to participate in Choice Dollars if they:
Hold a Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership position; or
Have $800 or more in annual premiums of qualifying insurance products; or
Have $20,000 or more in contract value of qualifying products.
Member eligibility under current eligibility requirements is determined monthly, and these eligibility requirements are re-evaluated on an annual basis.
