Thrivent Builds |
|
Nate and Kristi Ross know that getting a home through Thrivent Builds With Habitat is an “absolute blessing from the Lord God.” Nate is a custodian with Tippecanoe School Corporation and Kristi a stay-at-home mom with Joshua, 18 months old. The family moved to Lafayette from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and is very involved in their church, Whitehorse Christian Center. Currently, the Ross Family lives in a small, older apartment with no storage or garage. Baby Joshua arrived over 2 months early, leaving the family with many medical bills. Their hope is for an affordable home to call their own and room to grow their family. They are enjoying their new home built by Thrivent and Lutheran members in 2011. Watch for information about the 2012 build. Consider donating your time to help another special family.

Chapter Funds |
|
Tippecanoe County Chapter Guidelines for Funding Requests
1)No event/project requests will be accepted until the Thrivent Home Office notifies the chapter about the amount of the funding for Care Abounds in Communities projects. Contact a chapter leader to find out the amount received.
2)Individuals must wait one calendar year from the project date before submitting the same specific request again. For example, if a project is held in 2011, that very same project cannot be funded in 2012.
3)Those submitting funding requests should look for co-sponsors and funding partners to help sponsor their specific events/projects in an effort to enlist more people involvement. Co-sponsors and funding partners should be clearly noted on the funding request.
4)Board deliberation will take place in closed session after a request is presented. Notification of approval/denial will occur in a timely fashion from the date of the request.
5)The "Report for Funding Activity" report must be submitted to the Financial Director within two weeks following the completion of the project.
Ineligible Activities
•Activities conducted in foreign countries. (NOTE: The actual fundraisers and gathering of supplies as a service project must be done in the U.S. before a group goes to a foreign country or sends supplies to the foreign country.)
•Fund-raisers or hands-on service activities supporting Thrivent Builds.
•Activities that have a substantial purpose of promoting sales of products or services, including Thrivent Financial products and services.
•Member social activities that are open to the broader community (i.e., only Thrivent Financial members and their personal guests may be invited to member social activities).
•Member social activities that involve collecting fees from participants (must be funded with operating funds).
Ineligible uses of funding
•As a direct grant.
•Payment of professional services by vendors.
•Supplies for fundraising activities.

Complete the appropriate request form and present the request in person to the chapter leadership board for approval. If you are not sure which form to use, please contact your chapter leadership board.
