| Dennis BUCK was born in Boonville, NY, sometime around 1834. sometime between his early adulthood and the Civil War, he moved to Jersey City, NJ. Like all good citizens of that era, he enlisted on 19 August 1861, into the 5th NJ Volunteers. On 25 October 1862, he was Honorably Discharged and immediately reenlisted in Troop D, 2d US Cavalry. He served in numerous battles. On 15 November 1864, he was discharged for expiration of enlistment. He returned to Jersey City, NJ and on 1 January 1866, he married Jane Elizabeth Graystone. |
