We were married on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. on the Rialto Bridge in St. Mark's Square at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was a beautiful ceremony, conducted by a non-denominational minister. We felt very blessed, having 42 guests in attendance.
Following the ceremony, there was a "victory lap" in the special wedding gondola. Our gondolier serenaded us with Italian love songs, while our guests and passers-by waved to us and wished us well.
The reception was held in the Rialto Room of Canaletto Restaurant. We had a beautiful, seven-course gourmet meal with a Prosecco (Northern Italian sparkling wine) toast led by our Best Man, Jamie Downs, and our Matron of Honor, Kathryn Downs. Sam Bass was kind enough to give the blessing over dinner.
When we finally finished the three-hour dinner, everyone went dancing at La Scena, one of the clubs in the Venetian Hotel featuring live bands.
