We finally held our YG Election of Officers. Our Officers for 2004-2005 are: Maggie - President; Christina - Vice President/Treasurer; Clay - Secretary. Many thanks to out going officers - Zach and Brittany!

It was great seeing nearly everyone of you in VBS this year!

Remember to keep the phone chain active all of the time. Christina will also be leading the Communications Department - - remember to check your e-mails weekly. She will be delegating some phoning projects to some of you, please follow thru with the phone calls.

Amy Held and Mary Nahlik are joining us - - they are wonderful additions to the 'Youth Group Team.'

A suggestion has been made to consider renaming the Youth Group. Please be compiling some awesome suggestions for YOUR Youth Group.

If you have any questions or ideas, please email

Youth Group Car Wash - JULY 18th
Saint Paul’s Youth Group is sponsoring a Car Wash on Sunday, July 18th following Sunday School. Your Youthful Scrubbers will be attending the 7:30 Worship Service. They will be on deck after Sunday School with a hose, bucket and suds, vacuum, window cleaner and elbow grease to make your car sparkle.
For those who would like to participate in this Freewill Donation FUNdraiser, we will be at your service!
Pancakes Brunch - August 1st
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, August 1st and join us for a Pancake ‘Brunch’ immediately following the late Worship Service. We will have plenty of Pancakes, Bacon and . . . AND we hope you make plans to enjoy a great ‘brunch’ and some wonderful fellowship.

Youth Group Float Trip
Saint Paul’s Youth Group is coordinating a Float Trip and you’re invited to join us for an informal time of Worship and a lazy day of floatin’ on the river. Possible Worship Leaders might include Pastor Marty, Sem Student Matt Blackford or some of our current or past Elders of Saint Paul’s who plan on joining us. At the time of this writing, the specifics - -such as what river will we be floating (invading might be a better word) or what time will our caravan depart is to be determined. This is a great opportunity for a day of family fun in the sun! The Youth will most likely be using an inner tube as their watercraft, due to their inexperience with canoes. Once we have a count of those interested in participating, we will be able to get the actual cost of rental fees. Rental Fees must be paid in advance. There is a sign up sheet in the Narthex thru July 4th. If you miss the sign up sheet, we will give you our contact’s name for you to make your own reservations. Consent forms and arrangements for adult supervision for them will have been obtained for each Youth Group Member before the Float Trip. For their safety, all other youth will need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. Please contact Amy Held or Nancy Brooks with questions.

Buddy Walk for Downs Syndrome Awareness - 2003

Youth Group members who volunteered at the Buddy Walk in Festus (Christina where are you?)

We found Christina -- in disguise, looking a lot like her father!
We spent a few hours helping wee ones thru older adults with Downs Syndrome play games, draw pictures, decorate pumpkins, passing out balloons and participating in the Buddy Walk on HWY 61-67.
As we packed up to head home, it was unanimous that we want to help out again in 2004!
November Hayride - - -brrrrrrrr it's cold, where's the heater?

They look innocent enough, but don't be fooled. This is the rowdy 'back of the bus crew' here.

The other end of the hay wagon was so quiet, or were they frozen?? The 'mummy' wrapped up from head to toe is Matt our Fieldworker -- who is from Denver. Surely it gets colder than this in Colorado!!
Our November Hayride was a hit, the wagon was loaded! Many thanks to Gary Hagen for being our tour guide around Ed and Clara Mangelsdorf's farm and the ride almost to Highway MM on Heads Creek. We had a great time on the hayride and truly appreciated the huge bonfire waiting for us upon our return at the Mangelsdorf's.
I am so glad when Christmas comes!
