Other News
· The kids did a great job on their recycling projects.
· Parent teacher conferences are May 6th and 7th. Your conference time was sent home. Please let me know if there are changes.
· Poster state report is due Tues., May 11th.
· Second grade chapel is Wed., May 12th.
· Needed: 1) empty toilet tubes 2) batting 3) one clean, rinsed out empty milk jug with plastic cap per student We need these for May craft projects. If you have any of these items please have your student bring them in as soon as possible. Thanks!
· Thank You.Thank you, Mrs. Montgomery! She was able to get the rest of the ties we needed for an upcoming special project. WOW! Your effort is greatly appreciated! (Please turn over.)
· Thank You. Thank you Mrs. Rapp and Mrs. Dahms for a combined picture person and special art project. The students enjoyed learning about Renoir and having an opportunity to paint. These two ladies have done a marvelous job this year !
· Thank You. Thank you, Mrs. Tucker. WOW! The jungle is no longer confined to areas of South America, Africa, and eastern Asia. We now have a jungle in Morton, Illinois in our classroom. We will enjoy the jungle setting this entire month as we prepare for our Jungle Book Party and learn about the animal and plant life that exist there. Thanks for all your time and effort!!
· The May reading calendar will be due Thursday, May 20th for a total of 150 minutes. This is the last major monthly reading goal to be accomplished before our Jungle Book Party. The May reading calendar and classroom volunteer sheet are attached to this newsletter.
· In Social Studies this month we will be focusing on our country through the state reports and also exploring the jungle.
· Try to get the 6 AR points done early. The school library closes May 12th.
