NURSERY |
|
We are now providing the option for parents to bring their children, (infants - 4 years old), to our Nursery Room, (Bethlehem), during the 0:00 a.m. service. The children will be at worship through Children's Time, and then may be brought to the Nursery. This will also be a Sunday School class for the children who attend. We'll be using the same Sparks curriculum used during the regular Sunday School hour. THIS IS ONLY A SERVICE PROVIDED FOR PARENTS WHO CHOOSE TO USE IT. IT IS NOT REQUIRED. | |

THIS WEEKS LESSON |
Today’s Bible verses are short and to the point. We have a choice or which road we wish to travel. We must learn to make the right choices in life, and train ourselves to always do the right thing. Larry LutherMATTHEW 7:13-14 13. Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. 14. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it. Think about what these verses are telling us. It is not easy to always live the righteous life, but the rewards are much greater than the alternative which leads to death. As you go through your daily lives always think about what you are about to do and ask yourselves if it is the right thing to do. If we make it a habit to do the right thing it becomes much easier all the time. It is like getting in shape for sports. At first the practices are really hard, and wear you out, but before you know it they are a piece of cake. This is because you are conditioning your body and getting into shape so it can endure more and more without causing you any discomfort, the same will be true by living the Godly way before long it is just the way you do things.

We have three women from Hope joining the women at Gloria Dei once a month. We encourage others to join us. If we get enough people to join us we will start meeting at Hope Lutheran. Take time to check out the display in the narthex. There are brochures and shawl instructions for you to take, samples of the card that is given to the shawl recipient and a sample shawl. If you knit or crochet and would like to participate in this wonderful ministry, feel free to pick up some instructions and start a shawl. We are also taking donations to purchase supplies to help offset the expense of the shawls. Can't make church this weekend? Make it easy on yourself and check out the Simply Giving Program. This program allows you to have your offering automatically withdrawn from your checking account. This is perfect especially during the summer months when attendance is down because everyone is so busy. If this sounds like a good time saver for you, contact the church office or Betty Nelson and they will get the paperwork needed to get you set up. Update and Clarification of Memorial Money All money given for memorials is held in the Memorial Fund. This Fund is within the General Fund, but Memorial Funds are never to be used to pay bills associated with the day to day operation of the church. If there is a specific request that the money is to be used for at the time it is given, that money is set aside and used only for that particular item or purpose. If there is no specific request at the time the money is given, the money remains in the Memorial Account until a specific item, or items are purchased for the church. All items to be purchased, with Memorial Money must be approved by the church Council. All Memorials are to be place in envelopes specially marked for Memorials (available in the narthex) and placed in the weekly offering, or given to Rose Dougherty or Betty Nelson. Thank you. Betty Nelson |
