Good Samaritan Service is one of three outreach programs of Humanitri, a not-for-profit organization providing social services to under-served people in St. Louis city and county. We provide transitional housing, resettlement and stability for homeless families.

HISTORY OF GOOD SAMARITAN SERVICE CENTER
The Good Samaritan Service Center for the Homeless opened in March 1987, after three Lutheran agencies recognized the need to establish a system for permanent resettlement of the homeless in the city of St. Louis. Those three organizations, Trinity Lutheran of Soulard, Lutheran Ministries Association, and Lutheran Family and Children's Services, with major funding in the early years provided by the Lutheran Charities Foundation joined forces to establish Good Samaritan Center.

In recent years, Good Sam has become an independent agency with major financial support from: LCMS World Relief and Human Care, Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis, St. Louis City and County Homeless Divisions, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and United Way of Greater St. Louis.

We are excited about being able to communicate to our many volunteers and clients over the Web. We will be posting acitivities and volunteer opportunities along with many photos of these events.
