| Mike, Diane and Paul RevereMerry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you. Hope this epistle finds you and yours happy and well. Diane has asked Mike to compose the annual Minnesota Meyer Christmas letter this year and he has procrastinated as long as humanly possible. Since Mike is doing it (and learning to refer to himself in the third person), he’s going to do it his way. But he’s also aware that his way probably won’t fly so he’s also doing it Diane’s way. So this side is what Mike thinks is Diane’s way and you’ll find Mike’s Stream of Consciousness Rant (referred to as SoCR, pronounced soccer) on the back. | God continues to provide abundantly for our family. Mike has worked the entire year (unlike 2006), Diane continues to work in a church in a job she loves, and the boys (see SoCR) continue their pursuit of liberal arts degrees at St. Olaf College. Kevin and Ben are on the same campus but seldom see each other while Mike has been all over the country and Diane and Jr. (the enthusiastic but spoiled dog) have maintained the home base in the Twin Cities. We have managed to get together for a few times this year, including a family reunion, a foreign trip, and a construction project. | Ben completed his first year at St. Olaf. He’s seems to have settled on majors in Chemistry and Ancient Studies (with Latin and everything) while working towards some sort of medical career. He spent the summer in Grand Rapids making money doing maintenance, life guarding, and playing volleyball. Yea, who would of thought you could make money playing beach volleyball, much less in Grand Rapids, MN. He did finally retire from competitive swimming this fall. He swam for the Oles last year but decided it took up too much time so he is no longer a student athlete, just a student.

Diane is still working with children and adolescents at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mounds View, MN. She’s had the normal trials of church work but continues to really enjoy her job. The new year brings a new challenge for her with a change of middle management at the church. Of course, upper management never changes but there will be a new senior pastor at Messiah next year. With God in control, she realizes it won’t be anything she can’t deal with.

Speaking of God in control, He’s been running Mike all over the place this year. Mike has worked in Orange County, CA, Austin, TX, and Mansfield, MA (outside of Boston). Besides having tofile tax returns for three different states next year (and Texas doesn’t even have a personal income tax), he’s become way too familiar with airport security. In his visits to Minnesota, he works on chores and fights for bed space with Jr. He also spent some time with his parents in Atlanta where his dad has been receiving treatments for cancer and is in remission. Mike still runs/jogs and tries to deal with his hypertension and now high cholesterol. Diane has come to visit him in his travels and they also managed to get together in Colorado for the wedding of Diane’s niece and in Charlotte for the international Peacemakers conference. | Kevin in 12th night |

| Kevin is in his last year at St. Olaf. The plan is to graduate in May with a double major in English and Theater. At present, the plan hasn’t been extended beyond that. He has been an actor in several campus productions, including Twelfth Night and Taming of the Shrew. He’s also directed some and worked as a teaching assistant in the Theater department. He worked this summer as the musical director for a local production of High School Musical and he plays organ for church occasionally. He’s still writing music and playing with a band. You can check out both at www.myspace.com/sevenminusthree. Finally, Kevin will be spending January in England for college credit. He even plans to spend a few days in Paris before he returns home for his last semester. | And the big highlight was the family trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for another wedding of another of Diane’s nieces. We had a good time together in this beautiful resort area on the Pacific coast as Diane and Mike celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. As we look forward to next year, we wish you all the best and ask God to bless all of you. Be sure to let us know if you’re ever in Minnesota and remember, you never know when Mike might be working near you. |
