| St. Paul Lutheran Church in Burton, WI |
St Paul Lutheran Church – “the little white church in the valley” – locally known as “the Burton Church” continues in mission with Christ Lutheran Church of Lancaster. Quilt making, along with the making of hospice kits has been a strong source of stewardship locally and globally. Sunday school, special classes for Confirmation, and Lenten bible study centered on soup suppers and fellowship are the key opportunities for Christian Education. In addition, St. Paul has published a number of its own cookbooks and has recently reprinted its favorite edition Good Food from Good Cooks. As the current pastor, I am among those from Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, IA, that have served St. Paul Lutheran Church over the past 70 years, since its founding in 1938. On the one hand, we are an aging congregation, and on the other hand we are graced with the presence of younger families and children who attend Sunday school. Thus, we live with the hope of passing on our faith – grounded in God’s Word and Sacraments in our worship, and brought to life through our outreach, mission and fellowship. Thank you to all who supported and participated in our Harvest Festival Auction on Saturday, October 1st! Our fall worship begins after Labor Day weekend: First and 3rd Saturday - 5 PM, Sundays - 8:30 PM (except on the weekend that the first Saturday is held). Confirmation meets one hour prior to Saturday night worship. Children's education is held during Saturday night worship. Join us for our spring pulled pork dinner on Saturday, April 28th, 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM, at the Waterloo Town Hall in Burton.Grace & Peace - Pastor David Froemming |
