Themes and texts for these services will be as follows:
Ash Wednesday will include the imposition of ashes during our service.Maundy Thursday service is April 5th, 7:30pm at St. John’s and will include the celebration of Holy Communion. Our theme this evening is “Refuge,” Joshua 20:7-9.
Good Friday service is April 6th, 7:30pm at Peace. Our theme this evening is “Nobody,” Deuteronomy 7:7.
Easter Vigil will be observed Saturday April 7th, 7:30pm at St. John’s and will include the celebration of Holy Communion.
Easter Day is celebrated April 8th. Our worship times that morning will follow our normal Sunday schedule. These services will include the celebration of Holy Communion. Our theme for this service will be “Buried,” 2 Kings 13:21.
Also this year we will be using a Lenten series on Sunday mornings. This series is titled “Taking on something for Lent: Luther’s Catechisms,” and is taken from Concordia Pulpit Resources Vol. 22, pt. 2.
