Our Triune God instituted marriage as the life-long union of one man
and one woman.
--Genesis 2
--Matthew 19
We celebrate marriage as the only way for a man and woman to enjoy
union and intimacy in a manner pleasing to God. We also recognize marriage
as a picture of God's redeeming work in Christ: Jesus is the Bridegroom
who gave His life on the Cross to redeem His Bride the Church, cleansing
her of sin.
--Ephesians 5
Though society may embrace living together outside of marriage, adultery,
and casual divorce . . .
We confess these are all sins for which Christ died and rose, calling us
to repent and receive His gift of forgiveness.
We also hold to God's Word that declares not only is homosexual marriage
sinful, but also same-sex civil unions and all homosexual activity and
thought.
--Genesis 19
--Romans 1
For the sake of society and souls caught up in any of these destructive
choices and lifestyles, God calls us all to repent our sexual sins,
receive His forgiveness in Christ, and honor His gift of marriage with
thanksgiving.
Please pick up information about this in the entryway that can help you
defend the truth and speak up in Iowa...for the sake society and the
soles of those caught up in a destructive life style. God would
have us all repent our sexual sins and receive His forgiveness in Christ.
In light of the recent (April 3rd, 2009) Iowa Supreme Court decision, PLEASE
contact senators/representatives to let them know your opposition to Sodomy
Marriage. Ask them to do all within their power to limit and finally reverse
the Iowa Supreme Court decision that would make Iowa a leader in the
import/export of unnatural and ungodly sexual expression, elevating Sodomy not
only to a protected status, but a noble status (MARRIED!).
Call, e-mail and write a short note to Governor Chet Culver
asking him to make good on his promise that he will defend
traditional marriage. Only the Governor in consort with the
Legislature can make law on behalf of WE THE PEOPLE. The
court has NO power to enforce their opinion. ***It is just that an opinion.*** | | |
