O Pilgrim Servant, when God calls to send
you from your home to ventures without end,
and you step out with confidence in God
to go where none have been, by paths untrod,
you will not face your greatest fears alone,
for God will guide through perils still unknown.
God bless you on your servant way and hold
you in His hand, that you may be so bold!
Supported through God’s love, your every groan
bears on its breath your prayers to heaven’s throne.
He leads you by His hand and Shepherd’s rod
and sends you forth to share the love of God.
To places you don’t know, our God will tend
your footsteps safely to your journey’s end.

PENTECOST
Ezekiel 37:1-14;
Acts 2:1-39
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the
excellencies of him who called you out of darkness
into his marvelous light. -- 1 Peter 2:9 .ESV
Four winds exhale from corners of the earth,
and gently blow a scattered people home –
from broken limbs, a body’s given birth
with roots in Pontus, Phrygia, and Rome.
The breath of God comes hovering over bones
as dry as death and warms the moldy flesh.
As muscles tense, the stirring body moans,
and foreign tongues awaken, new and fresh!
From many nations gathered in this place
yet reaching round the world and living still,
the Holy Spirit forms a single race –
a royal priesthood called to do His will.
God’s chosen people, holy in His sight,
declare His praise Who called them into light.
