This Oktoberfest is unique because it involves homebrewers. Two teams participated in 2009--St Pauli Guys and Living Word brew teams. Oktoberfest 2010 benefits Lutheran Disaster Response! |
Join us at the intersection of Easton and Mt Carmel Roads in Glenside, PA, right behind St Paul's Lutheran Church, for a party! Craft beer brewed by 7 Brew Teams (so far) will be available, as will local craft and echt German beer. There will be live German music, audience participation in traditional Oktoberfest singing, games for children, and German food catered by Rieker's Market of Fox Chase. Tickets are $20 (for food,entertainment, and a beer) and $10 for youth 5-20 *(maximum of $20 for a family's children.There will be a silent auction of items donated by local merchants who work in our communities. Oktoberfest is spoonsored by Lutheran churches in southeastern PA, as well as by Lutheran Disaster Response-Southeastern PA, a service of Liberty Lutheran Services. This event will benefit disaster response and preparedness, including work to be done to improve conditions of Haitians. Disaster responders from SE PA church teams will be present to show what they have been doing, and many are volunteering to help with this event. Come to the Big Tent in Abington October 2nd at 2pm.
