About Our Pastor

Pastor Richard has been called to develop and serve Holy Cross Lutheran Church at The Villages. He is a native of Massachusetts and permanently resides in The Villages with his wife, Joan.

Pastor Poutenis has been blessed with a diverse career path prior to entering into full-time ministry. He has worked as a classroom teacher, a school district business manager, and a real estate developer and has owned several small businesses. Richard received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Franklin Pierce University and attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. Prior to accepting this call, Pastor Richard worked as a hospital chaplain.
