CHURCH HISTORY
St. John Lutheran Church was formed in 1875 by a group of German Lutherans who had settled in and around Powellsville and the Pine Creek area. It was incorporated on November 21, 1875, and the church was dedicated on Advent Sunday, November 28, 1875. The old church in the middle of the cemetery was used as a house of worship until 1968, when a new church was built across the road and dedicated on May 6th of that year. A new parsonage was built next to the new church and dedicated in 1973.

May God's richest blessings continue to rest upon the work that is being done at St. John.
