Oct. 10- LWML- Altenburg Rally at Immanuel New Wells Rally Begins at 1:00 p.m.
The fall rally for the Altenburg Zone of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League will be held October 10, 2010 at Immanuel New Wells. Registration begins at 12:30p.m. with the rally beginning at 1:00p.m. The theme for the Fall Rally is “Telling and Healing-The Lord’s Command for a Hurting World.” This is based on Luke 9:2. An ingathering will be new or gently used baseball caps. These will be given out at homeless shelters, to help prevent skin cancers of the face. These will be distributed by Roberta Lautenschlager, the guest speaker for the rally. Roberta is a registered nurse with 20 years of service as a medical missionary in the West African countries of Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Bobbie served on the Lutherans in Medical Missions (LIMM) board in 2000, became the Board Chair of LIMM in 2002, and was named Executive Director of LIMM in 2006 until the present. A light meal will be served after the rally at a nominal cost.
Oct. 12- LWML Jackson-Bootheel Rally at Zion- 9:30 Registration and 10:00 Rally begins
Whether you have joined a society within your church, or you serve in your own way, please consider attending the Jackson-Bootheel LWML Zone Fall Rally. It will be a wonderful time of singing, bible study and fellowship as we talk about Missions and the strengthening of our faith. It will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. Registration begins at 9:30am with a Rally starting at 10:00am. A delicious lunch will be provided, and the guest speaker will be Rev. Chuck and Karen Tessaro, Lutheran Bible Translators from Nigeria Africa. All ladies are welcome!
