Easter

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.
Luke 24:50-53
St, Paul's [Straub's] Lutheran Church, Danville

St. Paul's is located at 60 Frosty Valley Rd. outside of Danville.

Sunday Worship Service - 9:30 a.m.

The congregation of St. Paul’s (Straub’s) Lutheran Church was organized on January 20, 1848. There were 19 original members and the Reverend M. I. Alleman was the first pastor. They worshipped in Straub’s Schoolhouse which was across the road from the present church building until that structure could be erected. The name Straub for which the church is best known came from the Straub Family who donated the land for the church. They were among the early German settlers in Frosty Valley. The
cornerstone for the present church edifice was laid in June of 1848 and the structure was dedicated in October of the same year. This same structure was renovated through generosity of Mr. Edmund and rededicated on November 6, 1988. St. Paul’s cemetery contains the graves of many of the early German settlers and their descendants. The cemetery also contains the graves of Welsh miners who had moved into Frosty Valley to mine the ore for Danville’s early iron industry.
St. Paul's is conveniently located not far from the town of Danville. The Route 54 Danville exit off Interstate 80 is just a few miles from the church. Take 54 south to Rt. 642 east, then a quick right onto Columbia Hill Rd. and a right onto Frosty Valley Rd towards Bloomsburg.
Christ Lutheran Church in Buckhorn

Sunday Worship Service - 10:45 a.m.

Hard at work at our Chick and Waffle fundraiser! 2010

Our group of assemblers on October 2, 2011.
The members of St. Paul's joined the members of Christ Church for a Joint Holy Eucharist Service followed by a delicious covered dish luncheon. When the tables were cleared, we all pitched in and assembled Health kits for victims of disasters around the world. The generosity of our members allowed us to create 75 health kits that included, a hand towel, wash cloth, soap, toothbrush, comb, nail file/clipper, and band aids.

Our assembly line hard at work making health kits.
